Cabin Time – Our Summer Coming to an End

It’s August Already –

I have had Cabin Time marked in red on my calendar for 5 months and I can’t believe it already has come and gone! I don’t know about you, but I am not ready for summer time to be so close to the end. Last weekend we drove up to my Dad’s cabin for a few days away from the urban life. We met up with my folks and my husband’s folks.

Grandpas are Awesome!

My Dad’s cabin is very nice. It’s only a couple hours away from the cities. We try to get up there at least twice a summer. Ryan and I ended up going north on Saturday because I was attending the Glamorama the night before. I also had to wrap up a few posts for our other sites once we got there. While I stayed behind at the cabin the rest of the crew went on a boat ride over to the sand bar. It is such a perfect place to let the kids out to swim and float around on the lake.

Sand Bar Fun!

Jadis and her cousin loved playing on the blow up toys and Ruthie enjoyed spending her time finding treasures in the sand.

Isaiah Loves the Water!

Just has I arrived to the sand bar everyone was packing up to head back to the cabin. The kids were getting cold and hungry. Isaiah was tired out from all the water play time.

I was blessed to have a couple of Moms making all our meals for the weekend. Michelle and Jody are fantastic in the kitchen! We had grilled Kabobs and a Hamburger Tin Foil Dinner. There is always more food than I can eat when we go up to the cabin.

Ryan and I got a new inflatable pontoon to review for our site Beyond The Tent. He was looking forward to getting it out onto the lake. However, first he had to put it together!

Ryan and his Dad kept busy putting it together while the rest of us enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air.

Excited to try it out!

Maybe we should try it in Water!

And don’t forget your Beer…

I wish we could have gotten one for two! It looked so peaceful as he paddled out into the middle of the blue/green lake.

Also, Don’t Forget to Come Back…

We spent a few minutes watching Ryan in the new pontoon at the end of the dock. As I stood there I saw little baby fish swimming around.

When he came back he said with a few adjustments it would be really great. I can’t wait for my turn! I wanted to do some fishing, but I didn’t want to go through the hassle of baiting and unhooking my fish. Plus, we wouldn’t have kept any fish this time. So, I chose to be lazy instead.

It was a little chilly outside all weekend. Making it hard to do any water tubing or skiing, but Isaiah played on the tube on land.

Making the most of it –

This weekend we are staying home. I have been gone a ton this summer with the camping site. My yard could use a little love and my house needs more than a little help!

When I think about the weekend, I know summer is coming to an end. But, I ensure you I am soaking up every last bit of it as I can before the school bell rings!!
