Happy Days Hennepin Trust Theater Minneapolis stage review

 By Caryn Carlson

Happy Days The Musical features everyone’s favorite Richie Cunningham, who is about to graduate high school and go off to college. Family and friends join together at Arnold’s Malt Shop for a congratulations party, but some bad news interrupts the celebration.

It was a fun evening had by my sister and I. The play was at the New Century Theatre located in City Center downtown Minneapolis. Happy Days The Musical was wonderful! It returns to the days of 1959 (way before my time)! They did a great job of reenacting the television series of Happy Days.

During their party they find out Arnold’s Malt Shop is in danger of being demolished and so the gang teams up to save it with a dance contest and a wresting match.

The whole gang was there, Richie, Ralph Malph, and of course Arthur Fonzarelli “The Fonz”. Varsity sweaters, hula hoops and jukebox music took you back to those good old days.

The singing was wonderful by all the actors. I would definitely recommend this performance. It runs April 24 May 17 For tickets call 6124559501 or visit HennepinTheatreTrust.org.
