I don’t know about you, but I need a break from chasing the kids all around the house. One handy trick I have found is sitting them at the kitchen table with Homemade Playdough. There are a couple different ways to make Homemade Playdough. You can cook it (like I did in this post) or Non-cooked Playdough (which I plan on making next week). I love how Homemade Playdough feels compared to store bought Play-Doh. The kids will play with it for hours; giving you Mom a break to do something like laundry.
When I started getting everything ready to make the Homemade Playdough I relized my husband took our camera to work with him today, so my photos are from my crappy phone. Maybe Sprint will see this post and want to send me a new awesome phone because these photos will not help their sales.
You will need the following ingredients:
2 cup flour
1 cup salt
2 cup water
2 Tablespoon oil
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla or any other type of extract for a pleasing Playdough smell
If you want colorful Homemade Playdough: add Food coloring
How to make Homemade Playdough Recipe:
Throw it all in a large pot and mix it up. Then cook on the stove on low heat. Stir until the mix turns into a Playdough texture. When it looks and feels like Playdough remove from heat and let it cool.
All of the Homemade Playdough Recipes can be played with Play-Doh tools and toys.
I can keep this ball of fun up to 3 months! Add some sprinkles or glitter to spice it up. I hope you have fun making cheap easy Homemade Playdough with your little ones.
